The Startup Visa® Podcast
US immigration laws are one of the biggest challenges for startups establishing in the US market. The Startup Visa® podcast is all about US immigration issues for startup founders and international entrepreneurs. US-based startups/employers struggle to hire talented minds who often need work visas. International entrepreneurs and founders need to navigate the US immigration maze to understand how to enter the US market legally. Tahmina Watson, author of the bestselling book series "The Startup Visa" and a Business Insider listed as one of the top immigration lawyers for startups, has been working in this field since 2006. She has been a staunch advocate for a startup visa in the US and worked closely with the Obama administration on the International Entrepreneur Parole program. She recently led the effort to create a state-funded immigrant entrepreneur program in Washington State.

Thank you for tuning in to The Startup Visa Podcast. In this episode, I am honored to speak with Shashi Vijay, Principal Attorney at VJ Law Firm, and friends Ravi Bulusu and Venkatram Reddy Ravi. Shashi founded VJ Law Firm in Fall 2010 with a simple vision: Provide fast, affordable legal services to individuals, families and small-businesses in the Seattle Eastside. She is also the founding member of Washington State Bar Association's Low Bono section and offer probono services to local non-profits through Wayfind, and serve the needs of low-income clients by volunteering at various Eastside neighborhood clinics. She also assisted homeowners in protecting their homes by volunteering at the Northwest Justice Project's and Washington State Bar Association's Home Foreclosure Legal Aid program.
Shashi, Ravi, and Venkatram speak about their immigration experiences in the episode and their advocacy for immigrants in similar situations to their own. They discuss the reality of immigration backlogs and need for recapturing unused visas.
